On Wednesday, October 7, 2018 at the School Ready Initiative Press Conference Superintendent Fillpot unveiled an 8 Million Word Challenge. This challenge is for our NCLUSD Elementary Students, grades Kindergarten to 3rd, to read 8 million words using the Footsteps2Brilliance App before March 1, 2019.

The students at Barrington, Bonita, Hunt and Von Renner all worked extremely hard and completed the 8 Million Word Challenge in less than a month! From November 7, 2018 through December 6, 2018 students have read 8,226,134 words and counting! Congratulations to all our students and teachers!

Barrington, Bonita, Hunt and Von Renner are proudly displaying meters to track their "Footsteps to 8 Million Words". Follow along with their progress at each site and here for a weekly district-wide update.
